The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has informed the Union Urban Development Ministry that there is no provision for extra Floor Area Ratio(FAR) in construction for ‘Lal Dora’ areas in Delhi. The Ministry said as per the Master Plan for Delhi-2021, land use of Village Abadi(Lal Dora/Firni) and Extended Lal Dora located in any use zone is residential and the Development Control Norms for residential use/use premises are applicable. The Ministry also said it has no proposal to rename some of the areas including Lutyens Zone of Delhi. The DDA added that there has not been an unprecedented change in land use pattern in Delhi over the years, according to the Ministry. It allots land to agencies concerned for various purposes such as schools, hospitals and community halls. Once the land is allotted, it is for the agency concerned to utilise the land. Action was taken by DDA against the agencies for violation of the terms and conditions of allotment of land.
