The Delhi master plan 2021 seems to be on a course correction mode, and in a more positive manner. We policy watchers having being accustomed to arbitrary decisions from the government for so long are surprised by the ‘Inclusive’ approach on display, off late.
For a change, the policy makers do realize that paramount importance should be accorded to an integrated approach towards policy making, and creating a pragmatic road map with all stakeholders expressing their SWOT in advance.
Everyone seems to be talking about the land pooling & housing, no less important is the need to create economic activity & job creation for the ever increasing population of Delhi.
The Delhi government has set up a business facilitation council whose mandate is to collaborate & advise the policy makers about the ease of doing business in Delhi. An official release by the government states that the council has been set in order to “to have a structured mechanism for regular interaction with the industrial associations and organizations regarding their issues for setting up business.”
The Industry associations, traders & business community has come up with problems, solutions & ideas of the Industrial areas in Delhi, the norms for doing business & suggested mechanisms for triggering a positive increment in the business activities.
This collaborative approach bodes well for Delhi, and the vision of MPD 2021 to make Delhi into a Megapolis” said Ramesh Menon, Director Certes Realty Ltd. Menon further adds that he found the approach of DDA too welcoming, wherein they were receptive to the many suggestions made by the Certes team recently, during a meeting with the VC-DDA & the entire planning team.
